I just finished replacing the handle on my Morsø chopper - thought it would be a quick, easy job: loosen nuts, remove bolts & handle, put new handle and bolts in place, tighten nuts and VOILÁ!

If it were only that easy. There were no instructions, so I went at it and found that I had to loosen the forward position nut so the bolts had enough clearance to be removed, then as a result, had to re-adjust the forward blade position. Of course, the old bolts didn't fit in the new handle, and naturally, the new bolt heads and nuts were a different size than the originals so I had to find different sockets halfway through. There is not much clearance to work in there.

All is perfect now, but what a royal pain. For those who have done this operation, is there something that I missed and should know for next time?

I have replaced a handle on a Morso. It was about a 20 year old one and I didn't run into a bolt size difference. It is tight in there to get at the bolts, requires a skinny wrench.
I don't know how old your chopper is but maybe you've got an old chopper with a newer replacement handle, or a newer chopper with an old handle.
Did the handle come from Tech Mark? They distribute genuine Morso parts in the US. Maybe the handle is a knock-off.
Just make sure you push down on the handle when you move it back and forth so you don't grind the locking tab off and hopefully you won't have to replace the handle again. :icon21:

My chopper was made in 1988 - I did buy the part from Tech Mark (I love those people!) But, I must say it feels much smoother now - so the hassle was definitely worth it. And, while I have always used them to sharpen the blades, this set came back amazingly sharp. Cuts like butter!!

I send my blades to them also. They hollow grind and hone the blades, while most of the local sharpening services only flat grind.
This might be OK for your lawn mower blade or a pair of scissors, but for the Morso blades I like to let the people who know them sharpen them.
