I find that the v-shaped clamp that the molding is clamped into before driving the fasteners has a nasty habit of sliding backwards on occasion. It seems that no matter how tight we crank that handle down, it'll slide backwards after a few nails are driven. has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, how have you solved it?

There's a few things you can do that may help:

1. Remove the fence and attach a piece of masking tape or framer's tape to the bottom of it. The two metal surface are very slick right now.
2. Careful to not use cleaners that may leave a slippery residue.
3. Add another, wider diameter, washer below the hand that tightens the fence.
4. There may also be an issue with the air pressure being a bit too high.

Just a thought here but I would disassemble and reassemble the clamping mechanism to be sure nothing got placed upside down at the factory.
