Question Mitre Mite V2-1 missing part?

I just purchased a used Mitre Mite V2-1 machine and when I hooked it up to the air compressor the air just started to blow through what I think is the exhaust valve under the machine. there is one large hose and one small one attached the the device and on the third side another port where the air is blowing out of. It is threaded and I think from the diagrams that it is suppose to have one of the blue silencer caps in it, but I am not sure. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

I have a lot of experience with that machine and have done some repairs myself. It's hard to tell what the problem is but I suggest you contact ITW AMP at www.itwamp.com and talk to Phil Thomas in their tech support. He is very good and has helped me in the past to get the right parts or repair kits to fix a problem. They can send you a complete diagram of the air hose routing and a parts list.
