I'm trying to expand while still being a framer. So, I've started selling mirrors. Does anyone have a good supplier for custom cut mirrors? I'm not thrilled with my local supplier.

LJ has TruVue beveled mirrors in stock sizes.

IF you are located in a city of any size you should have 1 or more commercial glass suppliers....they will have a couple of mirror vendors on tap(AND take a cut of the cost)... but this is indispensible for the occasionally odd 13 7/16's square one!!!!!!!!! Some, like the one I deal with, can even put the bevel on a plain one(which is how they by theirs) and is able to polish out flaws in one they bought.
there was a grumbler, in the past, that had periodic sales of mirrors...don't remember where they were, but do a search in BIZ section.

Also, you may want to talk to whatever mirror supplier you end up dealing with about getting their scrap mirror for free or at a nominal charge. I made up a bunch of small mirrors from left over moulding and got the mirrors for free.

I priced them at about 1/3rd to 1/2 what the frame itself would cost if someone came in and ordered that size in the particular moulding I used. Large mouldings with small mirrors are cool. Designers loved them. I would also stack the mouldings or use fillets on the frames. Better than just collecting a bunch of 3' sticks.

The largest mirrors I made like this had mirrors that were about 8x8 with an outside size of about 16x16. The smallest mirror was 1/4" with an outside size of about 8x8.... looked like a peephole.

I've made mini-mirrors out of 12x12 mirror tiles available at Lowe's or Home Depot. They are thin, but fine for small size, and cut easily.

So where are you located? I buy from my supplier. Don't like the service or price call your rep. They may have discounts for certain sizes, and I have even asked my rep about free mirrors. I buy so many of their new moulding style and they throw in a mirror for each one. Just gotta ask. All they can say is "no". Then you can ask the next rep. "Hey that new moulding would make a nice mirror..." , "I'll buy 6 joins right now, (one of each style typically) if you'll throw in the mirror...."

They are all pushing their new moulding styles, make it worth your while to listen to their spiel...

I just use Larson and M&M for the standard beveled mirrors. If I need a custom size mirror I call my local Glass guy and he can get me any kind of mirror as far as thickness, color tones, and custom made bevel sizes. If you don't like you local supplier I would just try another one. My guys is listed under Auto Glass.

You could get the name of a thousand suppliers but without knowing your location it won't help. If you are looking to buy a truckload of mirrors FMI in North Carolina is a good source. It could cost several hundred dollars to ship a single large mirror.

You will find it is much easier to get help if you fill in your profile.

If you are trying mirrors to sell, I would just get the standard sizes and have your distributor deliver to you.

Jeff is right about the shipping charge. I priced an odd sized mirror from FMI a while back. The mirror was very reasonably priced. The shipping was insane.
