Miniature silver chairs-finished!

many of my fellow Grumblers wanted to see the finished job, so here is an attached photo or 2.....

The frame is one of our own profiles, built to the specific depth we needed. We finished it in aluminum leaf with a warm toner on it with black sides. The interior is black suede. The shelves are acrylic and, of course, we used Museum Glass....
Our customer picked it up this morning, was more than pleased with the results and gave me a big hug for doing such a remarkable job for her. I posted some more photos on our Facebook page...

They look great! If you feel comfortable doing so,
I'd like to know how you attached the shelves. Did
you run them through slots in the mat?
 
Yes, I attached the shelves by pushing them through slots I cut into the mat. The shelves were 2 pieces of acrylic, glued together to make an L shape. Because I needed to cut slits to run the mylar strips through the mat above the shelves, I put the shelves in so the L went beneath them, behind the mat. They are quite secure.
