time's wasting for your switch to(and learning the ropes of..) win7!!!!!!!!!

Interesting how support for Vista SP2 will end in 2012 and support for XP SP3 will continue to 2014.

While my home computer is a 8GB Quad core running Win7, my shop computer is an older DualCore 4G running XP. I don't see any reason to change the shop computer as XP runs fine on it and it might not have enough guts to run W7.

That just means that people should be current with their Vista. If you call, they'll require you to get the current (free) Vista fixes (SP) first. These are available through the Windows Updates icon. They aren't providing support for issues that were already addressed 3 years ago, before SP2 and then SP3.

Vista SP2 and Vista SP3 are scheduled to be supported until 4/2012, but that date will likely be extended several more years for SP3.

No need to jump ship yet from Vista. :)
