Sound like at great meeting! Count me in for a tile and I will see if one of my framer friends wants to join me. I've been through the tile works but never Fonthill. If it is anything like his other buildings it is going to be a good tour. Looking forward to it.

This will be a great meeting. Words cannot describe this historic treasure. There's a little of everything to make everyone happy. We have lots of art, tile, architecture, beautiful grounds and lots of history. Of course we'll have great company.

Please have fun with this informal framing competition. It's not the usual competition. The winners will be determined by vote by the meeting attendees. It doesn't have to be archivally framed, but you can certainly do so and explain your methods. The piece is small so you won't break the bank buying materials. Lots of our customers pick up tiles in their travels so this will be a perfect example of a framed object to hang in your shop.

We also encourage local suppliers to attend. Also if you are a supplier and would like to donate a doorprize or prize for the competition, we will certainly give you recognition. We love our suppliers!

This is a great day out to enjoy the spring weather so try something new, share a few ideas and make some contacts with suppliers and fellow framers.

Doylestown... small world. I worked for Penn Engineering for 27 years. Traveled to Danboro many times. There used to be a great little resturaunt called Maxwell's. Snapper soup...mmmm.

I told a couple other framer friends about the event and they jumped at the opportunity. So you can count me and these other two framers in. We are thinking about making it day of it in Doylestown. Do the meeting, check out the art museum and get some good grub up in Chalfont at the Mexican place. It will be a fun day for sure!

One framer said that he might combine it with some birding in Peace Valley park.

Lots to do in Doylestown. Lovely shops and galleries too. Good restaurants if you want to stay for dinner.

You all are so lucky! What a terrific idea for a meeting. I wish I could come to it. I love that place. It was a favorite spot to travel to from the Reading area when I was in high school in the late 60s. Touring Fonthill was so incredible. A wizened old lady was our tour guide. She had known Mr. Mercer. She might have been his housekeeper. I still remember the tile fireplace surrounds. One surround was based on Dickens' novels.

Did you know that you can check out Henry Chapman Mercer on Facebook? He had a very cool page with photos of his home, dog and who he has been entertaining.

Last chance to reserve your spot. If you know of a framer in our area, please forward this thread. It's a great event with a nice amount of folks preregistered but we need a few more friendly faces. The weather says that it should be a nice day not too hot or too cold.

What a fantastic place and great meeting! I thoroughly enjoyed myself as well as the girls that joined me. Thanks Sue for your presentation and the BEVA information, were always learning. I always bring valuable information back to the shop after a meeting, and this time I even brought home second place on the tile completion! If you missed it, your lose but maybe we will see at the next meeting. :)
