Sectional metal moulding seems to be on the decline. I may have sold one or two this year, and I have a hundred+ pounds of scrap aluminum from those I took off of pictures and replaced with wooden frames.
Metal frames are still being sold, but the selection has diminished.
One option that seems to be gaining ground are welded steel, brass, and aluminum frames with custom finishes. Look to A Street Frames, or Stinky Metals for some creative options. There are others, their names escape me just now.

We carry metals, and sell them fairly often. Nielsen profiles 22, 99, 126, 225 are all wider than one in inch. You could also check out Designer Moulding metals. Not sure if Clark is still around, but they're another.
