Employee took in a metal frame with broken glass that clearly had been dropped upon it's now bent corner. Frame is part of a set of 3 so reframing would be expensive....pretty sure the frame is discontinued so replace just it is not an option.

I've bent in back in shape quite---pliers and a rag to prevent further scratching....hammered the bad boy a bit, too, using a block of wood on the inside of the frame. Much improved but could use some more improvement.....

Anyone else have any helpful hints? The frame is a round top (similar to N15 profile but taller and thicker aluminum).

thanks!

If it is bent on the side at the top of the hardware channel there is an easy fix. Lay it on a wood surface and use the square end of a nail set to bang it back into shape. Start off tapping gently and increase as needed since you can pound a shaped stamp through it if you hit it hard enough.

If you need to round the face back into shape you will need something along the lines of a steel rod. Working on a piece of 2x4 is about the right amount of give to allow it to be shaped without moving too fast.

I'll give that a try--it does seem to be bent/damaged in the channel tightening the hardware is what pull it apart again. Thanks, Jeff!
