Just wanted to know if any other framers down here in the Southern Hemisphere are going to the trade show in Melbourne in August?

I know John Ranes will be there. I will look you up and say 'g'day' John!

Hey, let's get together for a "Grumblers Down Under" photograph? Pick a day when you'll both be at the Fair, and let's do it.

Any others?

John

I will be in Melbourne for six days (I need a break, last one was in '96) I'm not sure at this stage which day I will be at the show.
I hope to meet up with you both and although I hate getting my photo taken, I will participate in a "Grumblers" photo.
If we can't get together for a photo, we can always fake it with the aid of the computer.
(I will be armed with my new digital camera)

I doubt that the picture will be upside down, but if it will make you feel better you can turn your moniter upside down.

Framer,....the picture will indeed be upside down if you are viewing it from the Northern (but inferior!) Hemisphere. We all wear anti-gravity boots down here you know!

John,.....Whatever you do, don't forget to pack your anti-gravity boots!

;o))

G'day John and Ozgood
Seems the GDU is a very small and select society...surely there are more of you hiding in the offcut pile.
We can hardly have a group photo of 3 can we...and if one of us has to hold the camera our numbers will be down 30%..not even enough for a quorum...(or thirum)

Terry
I wears the boots, aint got no gravity

I can't say for sure, I should be passing through for at least half a day.

We may be a small group, but we will make up for that with our superior quality. Our numbers will not be diminished by someone being the camera operator, my better half will be there to do the job.

I'm quite sure the offcut pile contains some others who are watching silently in the wings. Hopefully they will make themselves known soon. I'm hoping to get some more names as I plan to make a personalised GDU badge for each Grumbler.
Speak up now any other Melbourne trade show attendee grumblers!

I think there are a lot of Aussie framers who haven't yet discovered the benefits of The Grumble and indeed the net in general.

I deal with the customers, I do the framing, I do the ordering, I do the bookwork, I do the deliveries, I pay the bills, I seem to do everything!

Lance E,
I hope you make your mind up soon. ;o))
By the way, don't forget to turn the lights out in NZ when you leave. There can't be anyone else left over there but you! They are all over here on the dole!
I hope to see you in Melbourne!

Ossie...have you decided yet what day you will be there?...my preference is Sunday
Terry

Look the Ockers have figured out how to use something!!! Won't be passing out (that was last year)!

Hi Oz

ok you win..... at great expense and a huge amount of inconvenience i have been able to swap my preferred day to the Saturday lol..name a time and i will be there with bells on...
but no smiley face badges please.

Terry

ps....should we let that kiwi in the pic or make him and his sheepy mates start their own branch?

Its great that you can come on Saturday. I imagine I will get there at opening time. I will have to check my schedule to see when the seminars are on.

As you seem to have some paranoia about smiley faces I will, at great inconvenience and expense, omit any such decorations. (I was never going to include smileys anyway)

I think we can let the Kiwi in if he can put up with being with us 'ockers'. Just don't wear your ugh boots in his company though, it could be dangerous.

How about it Lance E? Wanta join Grumblers Down Under?

I canno make it Cap'n.
Things have just got to busy for me to even slip out for a couple of days!
Next Year!!!

Well, Terry & John, it looks as if it will only be we three Grumblers Down Under.

Sad to hear that you won't be there Lance E. If business is that busy for you, watch out, I might come over and open a shop next door. ;o))

Terry, my first seminar is 12:30 and I will be there from opening time (I guess 10:00) we could meet anytime after 10:00 am if you wish. Perhaps at a particular stand. What do you suggest?

Hi Os..
So its just the Grumblers Three then...forget the photo..with a name like that we should put out a cd.....Greatest hits of...etc...we may be able to quit our day jobs after all.
On a more serious note ?? I guess we should find out when John is avaliable and fit in with his timetable...maybe at the fletcher stand??
BTW are you a tenor or bass?
Terry

Busy? it's 6:03 I'm about to go home for a 3 hour snooze! I'd be glad to get some extra hands next door.

Terry & Osgood,

Well, I've made it to the land of OZ! Just got off a flight from Brisbane, and I'm in Melbourne. A bit colder down here, I might add.......

Anyway, I'm teaching workshops on Friday and Sunday morning, so will not be in the Fletcher booth (That's Fletcha stand in Australian) until after Noon on those days, but otherwise anytime during Fair hours would be great.

I've picked up an Aussie GSM phone while here, so if you need to call. It's
041 762-9982.

Looking forward to getting together.

John
