Hi everybody,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good alternative for a infeed outfeed measuring system for a standard chop saw.

I have a chopper but keep a little chop saw with a really good blade for mouldings that don't chop so well. I am looking for something not too pricey since it won't be used all that often but still with measuring and clamping features.

The least expensive one I saw was about 360.00. My cheap little saw (Ryobi, stop giggling) was under 100.00 and the blade was about 100.00

I have a Dewalt slider dual compound at home but really feel it is overkill for having a backup at the store.

Any suggestions.

Thanks.

This is what I did. I built a table base for the saw and bolted the compound saw down to the table. The compound saw is counter-sunk so the the saw is level with the table. I built a back fence just like the Morso chopper fence and transfered a dry rubbing of my Morso Chopper ruler and glued it to the table. A nice coat of clear coat and your are good to go. Cost less than a $100 for the whole project. It's on locking rollers but you can do this project for less if you don't want wheels. Good luck and hope this helps.

I only use it for low-end metal moulding when I'm trying to save money. I love my Morso and order my high-end metals chop but it has speed up my producition when I want to save money.

JBNorman: no one's laughing. Have the same type thing and have had for 8 yrs. works well, cheap, and does the job
