We are going to need to replace one of our 12" miter saws next week and I tried to go onto Phaedra's website to order a new measuring sticker for the saw fence (actually for the part that is going away with the old saw), but found out that Phaedra is no longer in business.

Can anyone suggest another company to get the measuring system/stickers from?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry....

Let me clarify. I need the measuring system to go on the saw fence to measure moulding while I cut it. As in the image below.

Thanks again...

Doesn't Clearmount make a similar miter saw fence system? I would think that the angled decal on their fence and layout would be quite close to the one on the Phaedra system.

Actually, if you knew someone with a laser engraver, you could lay out a calibrated decal and have them cut it on the engraver. I had my friend do some vinyl work with his laser engraver some years ago and it worked fine.

A number of years ago the one on my saw wore out and I asked CDT about a new one - they wanted 750.00.

I laid one out in CAD and printed it on my wide format printer - laminated it - stuck it down and it's been fine.

Tom, I believe I talked to someone at Clearmount yesterday and they said they don't have a system for DeWalt saws, which is what I have.

I actually have a laser engraver. Could I possibly get the name or email address of your friend that did the vinyl work so I could ask a couple of questions? PM me. Thank you!!

Saw Decals

I got new measuring decals for my pheda system from Pam Fasteners. They make them for their saws that are set up for saws that cut with the rabit facing the saw. You just have to mount them in reverse if you are using them on a Pheda System. You will be reading the numbers up side down but you get used to that quickly. They come 1" to 30" and 31" to 60". You can order a set for the right hand side or the left hand side or both. Just remember what is the left hand side for their saw is the right hand side for the Pheda. I belive they are about $40 a section plus postage. It might be good to tell them that its for their saw. The last time I ordered from them, they were reluctent to deal with me since so many folks have ordered the wrong side and had to exchange them.

Clearmount Miter Saw Scales

Just to correct a few things - the Clearmount System has a different design from the Phaedra.
Our "grid" is actually silk screened on to aluminum plates that are then attached to the
base of our unit. This is attached to your saw - actually "floats" over the turntable.
There is no label involved - so with a Cleamount scale you never have to replace the grid
(narkings are guaranteed to not wear off) and if you need to change saws, it is simple
because there is no label - you simply reattach the scale to a new saw.

Our Scales are compatible with most 10" or 12" saws - including
DeWalt ( that misinformation did not come from Clearmount). The saw just has to look like
a "traditional" miter saw with flat areas on each side of the turntable.

With the Clearmount system, the maximum width of moulding that you can
measure (regardless of the size saw you have) is 4".

I hope this helps. Anyone with questions that I can help with, please just
give me a call. 800-541-5472 x 15.

Bandsaw - will your CAD print out work with a CDT D45?

Thanks for your input. Wondering will your CAD print out work with a CDT D45? I am going CRAZY as I just acquired this device and have to contend with two different scales (one for wood and the other for metal frames) and with the width variances, never sure how to make the cut as have to rely on my eye for alignment. Have switched to a standard miter saw for the metal cuts and have begun searching for a used Clearmount grid attachment.
New to this industry and the learning curve has been steep. Would appreciate your advise and comment.
