Matt Samples to Promote the Wizard....

Vinny..we made 8x10 samples of most of the special cuts and graphics (Wizard) and hung them from the ceiling....have sold lots of these because people see them and want them, mainly because they never knew there was such a choice. This works if you have high ceilings and plenty of room.

Vinny,

I would experiment a bit and see which ones cut the best for you. Don't show any cut that doesn't work well for you. I would incorporate the ones that you like and feel fit your area into framed samples on your wall. Also you might want to show a sample with multiple openings of different types too. One of the great things about a CMC is the ability to do multiple openings with ease, show it off! Frame a letter mat of something of your kid or pet that you might want to talk about. I only have a handful of favorite openings that I use. We are in a pretty conservative area, and cute just doesn't go over well.

Have fun:icon21:,

Hi Vinny we ours three years now, or four, i lose track.

When we got it of course we went mental and covered a whole wall in fancy mounts. (mats). almost none of which we have ever been asked for, but plenty of customers going "coo" and "wow".

most of our mounts for the shop (mats) are rectangular. less than 0.5 percent oval.
I dont know how this translates to over the pond shoppers, but we cant hardly sell a v-groove. Maybe they are a bit conservative in Cornwall. lol.

Best advice i've got is dont over-do it! Or make a load of 12x10 mounts and put them in a ring-binder at the counter for customers to browse. .... Ovals, hearts, double mats, etc.

Have to very much agree that one thing that does sell well are photomats in photo2 font, a couple on display with photos in does the trick.

And a couple of arrays for cigarette cards, collectors cards etc.

Plenty on the wizard users forum, at wiz-int.

ps. love couture gallery's idea of using the ceiling space! Nice one!

Thanks.....any more ideas?

Thank you guys. I love this forum. I already had planned on doing the name/letter ones. I have dome some with the manual mat cutter and now it is soooo much faster.

I love the idea of hanging them from the ceiling and the binder as well. I think I will do some of both and also some for the wall with the multiple openings.

Thank you everyone. Hope to get some more ideas.

we hang them back to back so you get twice as many displays on one hanger...try to keep groupings (ovals together/etc) we've sold several that I know would not have sold were it not for the samples to look at..adds up at an extra $2 per corner ( usuaslly a double mat.. so 8 corners)
