Mat Stylus

Shan

We will have ours up and running this week. Do you have one in use?

I don't think this has hit the radar of very many framers yet. This is going to open up a lot of new areas of creativity and utility, IMHO.

I played with it at two different trade shows, but don't have one.

VERY impressive and innovative device. They keep raising the bar a bit higher.

The Mat Stylus is the next step in the evolution of CMCs.

It is a device that adapts the moving head of the CMC to hold a pen, pencil, or other writing instrument instead of a mat-cutting blade.

With it, we can write signatures, captions, or other text on mats, and apply "French matting" lines in any shapes. I have some poems in calligraphic script that I'm dying to try.

We are up and running, this is an awesome tool!

I am interested in what creative use framers will put it to. Previous CMC improvements let to products like logo and letter mats which have brought success to many in our industry. We need fresh products to give us a boost.

What new products will prove the value of the Mat Stylus?

1st one to hit me was signature fraud--------capture one or more of an artist and dump it onto a print edge(doesnt matter if its actually by that artist), dry it sufficiently to emulate the age of the print and presto-chango you have a newly discovered artist signed forgery ...... a real deal, available to you, today only for only $5,499 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kinda bothers me! but I really do like the idea!!! maybe french lines will come back in vouge if you dont actually have to learn how to do them well? only possible hitch to this is the availability of pens/colors....can you attach your pentels to it? or your sharpies? or are you forced to only use the ones put out by the cmc company?

dont forget we all want to see some of the stuff you all come up with!

Is Wizard going to offer this technology as an upgrade ?

:) :popc:

I'm still waiting for MatDesigner 5.6 software upgrade - We always have to wait much longer for any product upgrades/improvements in Australia.

I would like the 90 degree blade for my Wizard too :)
