I don't have a CMC...that's in the plans, but down the road a bit. But does anyone know of a simple software program to help design multi opening mats? I can do it by hand, but it takes so long. I was hoping someone might know of a simple application to do the layout work, establish the border, etc.

If you're interested, call up Wizard (888-855-3335) on Monday and ask for a free demo of our MatDesigner software.. you can do multi-opening designs and print it out to a standard printer. It gives you the design on a grid and a table of dimensions (distance from left, top, bottom, right, and nearest opening) for each opening. Plus the demo will let you save files (but you'll need a stand-alone license key if you want to load those designs for cutting somewhere else).
 
Hey Steve...thank's a million! I happen to have the Wizard folder at my store and tried that, but got to the point I needed some license information so I quit and didn't go any further. I just want to print them out so I can cut the mats myself.....the old fashioned way....on my Chronomat that I'll be replacing someday with a CMC 8000.
 
Sure, no problem.. the demo is basically unlimited trial mode. You just need a license to cut on a CMC with the designs you make. Either way, you can save designs and print out the layout and dimensions to your heart's content.. :)
