Have a customer who wishes a marble look frame. Anybody have some suggestions? Not sure what color marble yet but looking for places to look at pictures of moulding. Can anybody in Grumbleland lead me to a good source they've used? Need fairly rapid turn around from order to ship.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Presto Marbleized

I have an old line that was faux marble.
Go to http://www.prestoframe.com/moulding.html
In the search the numbers are
1"width 1920,1923,1924
1-1/4" 1620,1623,1624,1627
2-1/2" 1720,1723,1724,1726,1727
1-3/8" 193

It is all in stock ready to ship.

a few other options.

  • You could make a frame out of MDF and find a local faux painter to do a marble look on it. Painters doing that technique should be pretty easy to find. (Or have Luddite do it for you )
  • You could make a frame out of MDF, decoupage some marble paper to it and the seal it.
  • You could contact a Marble (counter top ) fabricator in your area, and have the real thing made. Of course depending on the size it will be pretty heavy. They can drill & install brass fitting in reverse to install matching screws for appropriate hangers.

Since you mention the rapid turn around, you might not get that 'real' marble look.
Did you check LJ's Sorrento line?

John, you're making an assumption about the kind of framer that went the way of the Dodo bird about 1985....... if it can't be phoned in as a chop..... it don't exist. :bdh:

Ooooo my bad. :D I just called my stone mason and asked him if he could do that for me......

His answer after he stopped laughing was "are you nuts? What do I look like; a custom picture framer?"

yeah, I have done work for him......

Customers went the way of Dodo too though.
"It's going to cost how much???"
