Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, as well as framing. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent manual underpinner for a beginner. Thank you! John C

Hey John C.

Consider using a small biscuit joiner. Ryobi and Sears make them. They sell for about $100 and really do hold wood frames together. You don't have to putty the nail holes and they work for most all wood frames, except for the very small. On those I use a pnuematic nail gun.

Thanks dennis and Wally. I already have a DeWalt biscuit joiner. Never thought of using it to join frames. I just assumed it would be too big. I'll have to check it out!
