Wow, that's a piece of history!
I don't know that he actually wore that particular shirt. Its pattern is somewhat different from the one shown with him in the photo. I'm thinking there may have been a series of these produced that he signed and then were sold to raise money for one of his causes. Anyway, it was a very cool project to work on.
