When I turn on the driver pack it interferes with the radio stations I like to listen to. I don't know if it is the stations frequency or the weak signal but it gets blocked out. Do I need a lead curtain around the driver pack or what?

You know, I've been having trouble with my radio and hadn't connected the two, but you're right! It does seem to coordinate.

You can get electrical devices interfering with radio reception if they are not grounded properly. Not ever having looked at the mechanics of a Wizard I can only offer generic advice but:

If the wizard has a 3 pronged electric plug make sure that the socket that it is plugged into is properly grounded.

You can purchase an RF Choke at your local electronics supply shop (eg Radio Sh**). They come in different styles. See if you can find one that will clip over the power supply cord for the radio, and while you are at it put one over the wizard cord too.

I still like the idea of a little lead curtain around the driver pack, I think it's a broadcast frequency thing but I'm the first to confess I have no idea what I'm talking about so when in the neighborhood of an electronics store I'll check it out. Wizard tech didn't seem to have an answer other than change stations but I like my little community and college stations. We have some great ones around here.

I recommend you get a 12' Stanley tape measure for your Wizard to talk to. Maybe then it'll leave your radio alone.

It's not being bad. It's just bored.

Not so sure about that Ron. It's more like my teenagers. It's when I ask it to do something that I get the most interferance. Maybe it too preffers to be bored.

Try this first.

Make sure the radio is plugged into a seperate circut..

If the static persists, try another radio.

If the static persists, try an Eclips or a good ol C&H.

If all else fails, quite cutting mats and just listen to radio. :D

A lot of digital commercial equipment has a notice on is something like:

Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference, in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense.

We used to call it 'ground-bond integrity' at the Fone Co. Everything needs to go to the same ground. Make sure the brushes in any motors the Wiz may have(?) are not arcing and sparking.
