Has any one else had the problem of forgetting a password or making some other error that required you to hit your back button to return to your response, only to find that it is gone forever?
I've had this happen several times, it is very frustrating, especially if it was a time consuming effort.
Is there any way to recover your work, or is it gone for good?

The easiest way to avoid this problem would be to highlight all your text and Copy it, as though you were going to Paste it elsewhere.
That way, if the problem you described happens, you can just start a new response, and Paste the whole thing back in place.
Presto Frame-o.

An answer for the gorgotten password part of your problem is - you can download a program called 'Password Corral' probably from ZDNet or Cnet. I have used it for years because I have a crook memory. Some people reckon I have 'CRAFT' disease.
If you are not concerned with anyone else using your computer and finding your passwords a great program is 'Chimp'. It sits in the tray and can be opened with one click. Many new topics can be made and you can type into it or copy and paste and you never have to save anything manually, it is done automatically.
I keep myriads of stuff in it and can easily find things to copy and paste anywhere.

Happens to me all the time. I figured the Grumble Gods just didn't like what I had to say. Some of my best diatribes have been lost in cyberspace. Heaven help us if they come home to roost all at once.

Yep, it happened to me as I was going on about Roma moulding. Never had the energy to try to rethink that post.

My daughter then taught me the Copy and Paste trick. There's no way I would have figured that out by myself!

The copy & paste mentioned above is the best option - you should find that IEv5.5 has the ability to remember passwords - might not use this option for your on-line banking though...
Cheers,
Mike

Try using a free program called Gator.com. It remembers all passwords once you put them in. It also fills out all forms automatically. Pretty slick for a free program.
