We're in the process of moving into a new space and are debating on the best way to show the gallery artwork and our framed samples.

It's a 120-year-old brick building and will have wood floors in the public area of the shop. Our corner samples will be hanging on a dark-charcoal carpet covering the walls. The thought right now is to leave the ceiling rafters exposed to show the wood.

We're stumped on how to integrate an art display section into this. I've gotten suggestions ranging from a lighter-grey carpet for the gallery walls to painting the walls a gold or siena color. We're going to be restoring the original fir floor in the front area and would like to keep the "vintage" feeling in the shop without having it look rundown.

The building is long and narrow, so we have looong walls with fairly low ceilings and a narrower walking area where the art will be hanging.

Please post thumbnails here or send an e-mail with larger pictures through my Grumble account.

Consider a hanging system like Arakawa's, so that you aren't constantly painting and spackling and sanding. I visited the Arakawa booth at WCAF, and it was surprisingly affordable!
