I have someone looking for a part for the C&H Advantage M40. She has tried in vain to locate this part. Maybe a Grumbler has an extra one or knows someone who does. It is the screw and "bullet" that hold down the far end of the mat guide.

Looks like this one, at the near end:

Thanks! :)

The one you show is older than mine!

Has she tried Fletcher?

I had a part that broke on the production stop and went to the manual an looked up the number and had my local framing distributor order the part. I had it within 10 days, but I'm sure I could have had it sooner if I asked for air. In the interim I made a part from a brass strip I picked up from a hobby shop.

As far as I know, all of the screws/ bolts on my C&H are "standard" screws / bolts and were not uniquely designed and lathed with weird thread sizes.

Do you have the manual? In some of the manuals they specify the size (eg 3/32 hex...), and I'm sure it is the standard American thread (eg not metric). I have replaced some threaded parts by going to Lowe's and buying appropriate sized screws. They have boxes and boxes of different sized hex screws, bolts, etc.

Check Rockler. They sell various threaded knobs and other parts for making your own jigs. It won't matter what the thread size is as long as the stem fits through the slots, and you just need a nut of some kind that has matching threads and the proper width to slide in the base's channel.

I have the "bullet" and I may also have the screw. The screw can probably be found at your local Ace hardware.
I will send you a PM.
