I need a piece 16 1/2" x 20". I did find a piece in my bin but it wouldn't you know it, it was only 15 5/8" wide!

Anyone have a piece of scrap hanging around? I'll pay for it plus the shipping.

Or, anyone know a color that would be similar to it of either Alphamat or Crescent Rag?

Thanks.

I've got a piece that''s 17 1/4 x 32. You're welcome to it. I don't much care about the cost of the matboard, but it might cost more to ship than it's worth. I'm in South Carolina. If you can't come up with a more convenient solution I'll be happy to help.

I may have found a substitute. A new sales rep but old friend from the industry (sold her company and went to work for the company that bought it) stopped last night and showed me the specifier for that company's own brand of mat board. It looks like they have one that is really close. I'll order it Monday since I have to order some Singlestep anyway for something else.

She also showed me lots of new moulding samples. I ordered quite a few sample corners. Now I'll have to rearrange my walls to make room for them.

:faintthud:

AnneL....what kind of samples did you get? I have room for about 100 more samples on my wall. I've been trying to decide who to go with an what to get. Thanks, Sue

I got a mixture of things, mostly more traditional or rustic wood styles, which is what I've found sells in our area. We have lots of lake homes and summer places.

I don't really like picking samples from a catalog or the internet. I prefer to see them in person so I can pick them up and see how the finish and details actually look. That's why I appreciate it when a rep stops to show them to me in person or I can get to a trade show to look at the displays.

I asked because that's what I'm looking for. I hate looking at catalogs too! Did you get them from International Moulding by any chance? I've just been looking (on their site) into adding some of their moulding's. (they seem to have some of the rustic stuff I'm looking for) I don't want to carry the whole line so I'm unsure the rep would drive this far just to show me samples.

Yes. I'm in a rural area and a bit off the beaten track, but the rep (Vicki) made a special trip over here to see me while she was in this part of the state. She was one of my first mentors in the industry when she owned her own company, which she sold to International a few years ago. The name is going to be changing soon from Vicki Schober to TC Moulding WI as they are becoming part of the TC Moulding Co. that International owns out of MN.

Are you a customer of one of their companies? I'm sure if they have a rep going anywhere close to your region, they'd be happy to stop by.

Don't ask me specifically which samples I ordered though. I don't remember off the top of my head. We were catching up and yakking away while looking at them. I'll know when they get here.

I'm actually on the WI border - Hurley WI. I know where you are - my husband is from Watertown WI. I'm actually working with Eileen who is from International Moulding. (she's by Milwaukee somewhere) They wanted to set me up with a rep from MI but that would be the Detroit area which is 12 hrs away. Eileen just sent me the app to fill out and get back to her. I'm 5 hrs from her. We are a geographical oddity, no rep wants to come here. I can't even get glass shipped. I have to drive to get my glass. Thank you for your post Anne I appreciate it!

We're about 2 hours north of Watertown. Nearest truck delivery to us is an hour away in Oshkosh.

We actually don't get our glass from a framing supplier. We get it from a glass and paint store in Shawano, WI (Dearco). They sell Tru-vue and have a truck that delivers to frame shops and hardware stores in our area once a week. Maybe there is an alternate source like that in your area.

Is "near Milwaukee" New Berlin, WI? If so, that is Vicki Schober Co (Now TC moulding). I think I remember someone there by the name of Eileen. I know they have a second rep in this state and I thought that was the name I saw.

I don't know if this would be closer for you, but they also have a place in Roseville, MN by the Twin Cities. Probably half a dozen one, six of the other from where you are.

When they proposed setting you up with a rep from MI, they may have been thinking you were in Iron Mountain. Lots of people get Ironwood mixed up with Iron Mountain but they are on opposite sides of the UP.

Happy ending all around. Happy customer with the framing. Happy framer to find a match. And happy sales rep to be of help.

My new corner samples were delivered this morning. One of their employees is from here and was coming to visit her mom who only lives a block from where our shop is. I even know who her mom is. She works for one of the greenhouses here and is quite famous in gardening circles for her own gardens and for the baskets and pots she plants each spring.

Her mom came with because my husband, Gary, had taken a picture she wanted to get a copy off. It was of the barn on the farm she lived on when little. Gary won an award on for the picture and she saw the announcement in the paper. We happily sold her a copy of it.

Oh, and there is an Eileen that works there. She works in the office with Marty.

All's well that ends well.
