Can anyone tell me if the is a putty out there that is the color of African Red Padauk, it's a darker red. A close match is Red Maple, but I can't find that in Larson's catalog. Any ideas???

Probably the best thing is to just mix up some different reds/blacks/browns till you get the shade you want.

Like Andrew said ...heat the putties by putting them on your dry mount press or use a heat gun sparingly.

thanks

the good thing is it's not for me, it's for a customer who was asking if I knew of any and if I could get them some. When I explained that it would just have to be mixed together from existing colors he asked me if I could do it for him. I wouldn't even know how to charge for something like that, nor do I really want to do it to be honest.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

I've worked with this wood before, you basically want to use Mahogany or any dark red with a touch of black. The wood while usually a brilliant rich red orange will darken considerably with age.

Attach E-Z's new "Fix N Fill"..... it's easy, charge $25 minumum for a simple fix. Trust me... it's worth it. It doesn't rub off and easy to get the hang of mixing the colors.
