PFG, Picture Framing God
It's been one of those days. A department at the big U needs 10-20 24 x 36ish frames built from what looks like old school house wood. Thier wainscoating and bulletin boards were made to match and built in a the same time are made of a wood no one knows about, looks like a honey oak, but without as much grain. They don't want oak, they don't want Studio ramin (too orange) they don't want much of anything I will show them. The frame needs to be at least 1.5" to support the photos with plex and mat, and it must be gently rounded or a full round to match the current bulletin boards--a style which, I pointed out, went out of fashion many years ago. Picture Woods has #522, but not in the right color. Garrett, and a few others are rushing me samples. but nothing will really be right, I know. I need the stuff milled and framed by the 3rd week in Sept. Dreaming, I know.
Any suggestions? I need samples by the next meeting--Thursday.
I'm off to my next meeting which will hopefully go more smoothly. Several all week. School has started and they all have thier alumni, founders events which need rush framing. I'm not complaining.
