I have been asking my reps for white moulding for a while now and it's hard to find. I have customers asking for white laquer lately. Something 3-4" flat laquer is what I need at the moment. Anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for?

Haven't seen much white laquer lately. Might be a job for Krylon. They really do have some nice finishes and colors. I like to spray the entire length before cutting to avoid build up on the corners. don't try to cover in one coat. I spray 3 coats from each side. After joining I shoot one light coat to cover the miter lines.

Only takes a couple of minutes out of your day.

I'll look in the back and see if I have any leftover Arquati from the '80s. ;)
Just kidding. Do what Jeff said.

If you're going to make your own and spray paint - Rust-Oleum specialty lacquer is EXCELLENT. I've done a few frames with it and even refinished one of my old electric guitars. Very durable finish.

I know, very 80's. I wanted to say to this man, a designer, "don't you know it's 2008? Everyone is looking for distressed moulding these days.

I'll try the spray on some stock just to try it out for future requests.

What is it with white moulding? Lately I have had all manner of people wanting it and I cannot think of anything worse to work with or less practical in a decorating sense. Even a little moulding like L.J.'s XE83 is a pain in the butt to join neatly in white with any minor misalignment or roughness in the cut standing out like crazy. Anything bigger than that I don't want to know about.

I hope this fad doesn't get any traction.

Hi Bogframe
I used universals once before but there were many light scratches on the finish. I was trying no to use them again. I have 2 large pieces that need 4" white laquer. I wasn't too happy with the finish last time but I may have to try again.

The beauty thing about Universal is that they're so willing to make you happy, that if you complain about quality, they send it you you joined for the price of length, or at least that's what they did the last few times I complained about their mouldings.
