Here are some additional fabricating photos

Check out the support truss, Dean came up with to handle the 16 foot long mat liner .15 minutes, door stop, and a crown stapler two people could move it around easily and a solid support. Every phase of this project had to be planed and we made many samples before every step.

Awesome job, Robert!
The thickness of the 24ply 'mat' looks great.

It is always have fun to do extra ordinary framing work :icon21:....very handsome work!!
BTW, who is that guy who become your scale reference? Get 3 short guys like me...would made the frame look longer!! :D

Wow!

I'm smiling at your guys, too. Love the hands in the air.
It seems jubilant. Ta-da! :)

So how did you hang it? Z-Bar or something else?

Seeing your post brings to mind the one time I visited
San Antonio. You might think the Riverwalk is way tourist-y,
but as one of the same I enjoyed it. Still remember sparkly
lights down by the water, and music sprinkling from
those little cafes.

Cool.

This is not a project that could be handled by the BB's or an internet framer.

Nice to have it in your portfolio of accomplishments.

:popc:

180" is 15 feet! where'd you get acrylic that size? The biggest I could find was 10'

Regal plastics my supplier in San Antonio ordered it out of Houston it is polycarbonate 48+ X up to 24' long big roll we had to polish out a few small
scratches . I do not know how you could get this from a supplier without some
handling marks, unless you went to the manufacturer and picked it up yourself .
comes with the protective polyfilm that looked terrible but only a few scratches
made it all the way through the film.

THIS IS WAY COOL!!
Ok.....spill it........how long did this take you???
How in the heck did you hang it?? :D
Nice job......very professional looking!!!

Here are some images of the other frame in the project

We started the project with a 12 day deadline after award of the proposal
I had already spent about 4 hours on the phone with various suppliers and had commitments from them and pricing.
We had fabricated a couple of samples and kept good notes on everything

We received all supplies in 6 days and completed the project in 5 days with no overtime . 1 and 1/2 days sooner than planed . The customer was very pleased the figures came out great and I think the customer got a great value on a one of a kind piece .

The photos show Chris and Richard hanging the additional frame with the wooden cleat we have milled for us. We also use this as the strainer frame for oversize projects.

I am very proud of my crew (4 ) that worked on this project and the rest that kept up with the rest of the regular work .

How did you know what to quote for a project like that?
Does this expenditure mean that our insurance rates will be going up?
;) Rick
