I know this has been discussed and solved in the past but I cannot think of the right search terms to locate the old threads. Found a thread from 2006. Not much help there.

Every time I shut down my computer I have to re-log in to the Grumble. (And Facebook, and ebay, etc...) Some of these sites even have a box to check which states "Keep me logged in" - so what is up with that?

In the first ten years or so after I joined the Grumble, I was able to stay logged in for that entire time and never once had to log back in even though I shut my computer down every night (as opposed to now when I use "hibernate" most of the time and just shut it down and reboot for updates).

I know it has something to do with cookies and caches and history and the like - but that is a complete mystery to my aging addled brain.

*sigh*

You probably have some setting or tool somewhere that is deleting cookies, when you exit the browser. That's what cookies are for, to remember your settings for individual sites.

Weird. I closed the G this morning when it was loading really slowly or not at all.

Came back in just now to the familiar log in request at the top.

Decided to see what I could see without logging in.

Clicked on the Grumble forum, looked at the list and then went back to the main page, to see what it would look like without Warped.

But there was Warped - and it turns out that without logging back in I was logged in.

I've also had trouble staying logged in for the past 3 days despite clicking "remember me". On logging in I get a vbulletin message that says "invalid redirect URL". Haven't changed any settings on my laptop recently and haven't had this problem.

Most likely youre visiting from a bookmark of thegrumble.com instead of www.thegrumble.com

Try editing the bookmark with the www, and that error should go away. (or zap it and re add it)
