I just got samples in of two new collections by LJ / Acropolis and Meridaian. I like the look!

Acropolis 1.5" and 2.75" plus fillets, Textured finish in Terra Cotta, Ochre and Umber, kind of reminds me of the finishes on Neilsens Elements.

Meridian, comes in same sizes also has a metalic look in colors black / white / red / blue/green all with kind of a horz brushed look with silver or gold metalic showing thru.

Prices are modest.

I got mine too. I like the Acropolis but wonder how it is going to fill. The finish remindes me of LeCirce which we dropped because it scuffed so badly.

I got them too! Love these. Great stackers too!

(I asked why the Meridaian smaller frames has such a short rabbit height. Makes it harder for designing)

Anyone know why the grooves are on the bottom of the Acropolis? Must be something to do with the manufacturing process?

I had been told years ago that the groove would help avoid twisting in the moulding. I have no idea if that is true or not.

I believe that is true, if you look at a lot of architectural mouldings for construction you will see a similar groove pattern.

A side benefit I see, is that if you wanted to build a back extender box you could mill a tongue on that would lock securly into this groove and with glue would be a very strong joint.

We got ours yesterday. Just sold a 32x40 with the Acropolis Ochre. Love the look of the whole family. The price is good too.

We sold two today before the UPS guy even got in the door with them. There were several customers waiting in the parking lot because they had heard the samples may be arriving today. They stopped the UPS guy, ripped the packages out of his hands, tore them open, and ran into our shop waving them above their heads screaming "I want this one!".

Yeah, right.

We'll probably sell them eventually, just not today.

Doug, I had heart failure when I read your post. I am glad you cleared that up because THAT never happens at my shop!!!!

But I do keep dreaming......

Got in early.... found them and a couple of other samples on the work table... looked at how "beat up" they looked and figured that they were so of the very old stuff that we have been talking about ash-canning. So I did.

They're still there. Didn't hear any dissenting vote. Ship un-asked for.... we keep hearing that we have a new rep......

I was just out at the local L-J plant to pick up some materials and some samples (Gramercy and Confetti). Niether of these two mentioned new lines was on display.
Plus, I found out that our rep has resigned (moving on to sell construction door hardware etc.), and they haven't hired a new one yet.

I just got my Meridian and Acropolis samples today and I like these!

So.....how do they chop? Anyone tried yet? I'm wondering if the finish might chop on the Acropolis?

Thanks for the tip, I just took my first order for the Meridian silver/blue.....going on a large aerial photo of the Swiss Alps! Cool! I mean, Cold!

I got mine last week, but I really wasn't that wild about them. I guess I need to get them out and let the customer decide if they like them or not.

I'm not a big contemporary kind of person, but I better take a second look at them since everybody here seems to like them.:kaffeetrinker_2:

Meridian chops fine (I've done two already), although when I touched up the edge with silver paint pen & tried wiping off a little excess with thinner it will remove the silvering.

I tried this thiner trick myself and guess what: my silvering is still there. Perhaps your thiner is not that thin anymore or you practice on a special piece of molding :) :)
