I have never been able to get a link typed in a post on the Grumbler to work. But if I right click
it and add it to bookmarks, then go to my bookmarks and click, it works. Am I doing something
wrong? Does anyone else have this problem?

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend.

Jan,

When you post a reply and want to include a link in that reply, position your cursor where you want the link to occur and,in the "UBB Codes" (see below), select "URL". You can enter the web address in that area. Make sure that "http://" isn't entered twice. Sometimes when you copy a site address this prefix is included and it is also included on the URL line. Usually it is replaced by the new address but sometimes a wayward click of the mouse will cause it to appear twice. Now, click on OK and you will be able to enter any words that you want the link to be activated from.

Example: go to my web site

Click on OK and you are done. If you want to check out whether your link works before you post, use the "Preview Post" to see if it is operational.

Good luck.

Thanks framerguy,

But my problem isn't putting an address in my own reply, it's making a link in an exisiting post work. For example when I tried to go to your site directly from your post it won't work. But if I bookmark it by right clicking in your post, bookmarking the address and then going to my bookmarks and clicking on it there, it works.

{Nice jewel box by the way.}

Jan,

Sounds like Netscape to me. You may have to go into your settings and adjust something. I use IE5.5 and have never had any problems with links unless the link is entered wrong.

(Thank you, by the way.)
