Lights inside framing

I am Framing a etched window for a customer and I am having a hard time finding either LED battery powered or a very slim traditional lights. I have tried house of troy and some google searches but not much luck so far. We would like to back light this as to have the " sunlight shine thru just like when she was a kid when it was in her grandmothers house".
any suggestions would be helpful.

White translucent acrylic behind.
Crystal light defuser behind that. (This it that bumpy styrene panels that they put in ceiling florecent lights)
Leave at least 2" space behind and put a curled bed of rope light.

Make sure there are LOTS of holes in the bottom and top for the heat to escape.

Take a look at this, although I have not tried it, it does look cool! The bicycle set up would probably work best in the white.
