I'm trying to switch over to Lifesaver software but it demands a much higher screen resolution than we're currently useing & when I switch it really messes up the screen. Everything else gets teeny tiny & kinda flickers. There must be some easy solution to this? but of course it eludes me.

Terry, have you tried calling the customer support line at Lifesaver?

Time for a new monitor!

When ever I try to resize the LS screens I get too many headaches. It really wants to run full screen and cover everything else up. Try to run it in a window and you will never be able to fill in the blanks or read the prices on the framing screen.

Get a flat screen while you are at it. That'll help you free up your counter, you can even mount the screen to the wall.

The older versions were 800x600, but a couple years ago they switched over to the current standard resolution. 1024x768 That is the optimal setting, if you have a square type monitor. Most web pages and search engines are 1024x768.

To set your resolution optimally:
-Right click on the windows wallpaper/desktop and pick PROPERTIES
-Click the SETTINGS tab and make sure you are at 1024x768 resolution, with the highest color quality setting possible. (for a square monitor)

IF you find things are too small, outside of LifeSaver, there are some settings you can tweak:
-Right click on the windows wallpaper/desktop and pick PROPERTIES
-Click the ADVANCED button (from settings tab)
--Adjust DPI from NORMAL to LARGE. hit OK and re-evaluate.

--From this screen, you can also go to the MONITOR tab, and try a different refresh rate, if you see some slight flickering. (Check monitor manual for available settings)
-Click OK and evaluate the changes

-Right click on the windows wallpaper/desktop and pick PROPERTIES
-Click the APPEARANCE tab
--Under FONT SIZE, change it to LARGE or even EXTRA LARGE
--Under ADVANCED, there is also an option for "USE LARGE ICONS"
-Click OK and evaluate the changes

-When done with any of the above, hit OK to save your changes.

Tweak it to your liking. Your PC is now at its optimal settings for use with LifeSaver! (or just about any CMC, visualization system, or POS System)

Best regards,
Mike

Thanks. & Dave (I think it was Dave, or was Dave the guy from the newspaper that called right after, think I forgot to take my memory pill today) called me from LS too. Got the flickering taken care of. Bob's right , we probably should get a new monitor. Ours is flat screen but only 15" square. I guess size does matter.

Well, I had "one of my people" call & it didn't get sorted out so I thought I'd check here & see if anyone else had this problem.

My monitor is a 15" flat screen. Works fine for LS and has been for 10 months now, but hmm...... maybe I can use this thread to justify getting a 17'..... no make that a 19" flat screen! 21" do I hear 21"!

I love my 19" flat, but wouldn't mind a 21".

Naa, since we're doing it, let's make it oh, say 36"! That'll get the WOW factor!

Who says size doesn't matter??

We recently moved our front counter from 15 to 19, and retired the old 15 flat to the wizard in the back room. What a difference it made for the eyes! The newer ones also have an improved clarity and viewing angle.
