I’m getting Lifesaver for my shop. I’d like to use an iPad Pro. Does anyone use an iPad for their shop? Is this a good idea or should I get a desktop?

Dozens or hundreds of shops use ipads (or other brands of tablets) with Lifesaver cloud in their shops. It's just a matter of personal preference, whether you want it on a portable tablet or if you prefer the bigger keyboard and screen of a desktop or laptop. It will work the same, regardless. (you can even use both, as long as the same user ID isn't logged into both actively at the same time)

and congratulations!

Thank you for your advice. I suppose that the folks at Lifesaver can tell me how much memory an iPad would need.

It shouldn't matter how much memory, because it's just using a web browser and will want to open some PDF files for reports. It has minimal requirements.

There is a cyber Monday deal today for the 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet for $99. This would also be perfectly suitable. I believe both brands are made for the companies by Foxconn, although the operating systems are very different.

I have a samsung pad and lifesaver cloud can be funky on a non apple product.
cant multiple print, have to print downloaded pdfs of the invoice, and worksheet...
the drop down menus for changing from length, chop, joined for example doesn't easily load correctly (as it does on my computer...

just a few of the limitations...for a non apple ipad

Sue,
If anything, the non Apple tablets should be more flexible because you have so many choices of browsers. Personally, I suggest using GOOGLE CHROME with Lifesaver cloud. (whether on a tablet or PC) That is available for any brand of tablet that runs on the Android operating system. Generic browsers that usually come with tablets can be a bit limited. If you dont already use Google Chrome with it, I suggest giving it a try. It will be in any app store that you visit, including the official one from Google.
Best regards,
Mike
