Hello
Although this isn't really what the workorder scheduling calendar was designed for, it possible to do so. It will use a workorder # for each entry, however.
Judy Nansel posted this as a TIP & TRICK in the recent LifeSaver Tips thread. It sounds like exactly what you are trying to do. The full thread lives at

THE CALENDAR (Posted originally by JudyN)
One great thing about LS is the CALENDAR.
I am sure many already do this:
Say you have something at a conservator and you do not know the final cost until you get the report back.
You can do scheduling of projects with it pretty easy. Just change the due date ( say 4 weeks into the future) ... for when the project is due. Type in all the information about the art . SAVE it without entering a price.
You can also schedule your personal appointments in the Calendar. Hit SAVE and "do not print".
How the calendar works to track your workload and show What is done/pending. (Posted originally by Mike Labbe)
Marking done, blocking, printing schedules, fitter tracking, framer's report
The calendar is displayed in the ticket window and lets you get the "pulse of the shop" at a glance.
-Days with a red "X" are blocked out, due to holiday, vacation, etc.
-The small (red) number to the left of each day represents the number of UNFINISHED pieces for that day.
-The small (blue) number to the right of each day represents the number of FINISHED pieces for that day.
-If you click on a day, it will show a detailed list of what you have going on. (finished and unfinished)
Printing a Work Schedule (things that are pending)
From Framing Order/Ticket screen:
-Around the scheduling calendar, you'll see some buttons:
--"Print weekly to do" (click on the week # you wish to print)
--"Print monthly to do" (for the month displayed)
--"Production Log" (anything not yet marked as DONE)
Blocking days in the calendar, so jobs will not be scheduled.
There may be days where you don't wish to schedule jobs. (holidays, vacations, events, etc) It is possible to mark these days in the calendar, so the auto scheduler will not attempt to use them.
From the Framing Sale/Ticket screen calendar:
-Using the mouse, navigate to the day you wish to "block out" and click on it.
-Click "Block Day" -> EXIT
-You'll notice a red "X" over that day in the calendar.
notice December 25 and 26 in the above image.
Marking jobs as Finished/Done and tracking fitting by employee
From Framing Order/Ticket screen calendar:
-Click on the due date and locate the ticket
-Click DONE
-(optional)If you have "require framer initials" checked in CONFIGURE, enter fitter's initials.
-Click EXIT
Alternate Way: If you have the barcode reader, simply SCAN the workorder. It will call it up, mark it done, and ask for the optional framer initials.
(optional)Monthly Framer's Activity Report (by fitter)
From the main menu:
-Click REPORTS
-Check PREFERENCES
-Check FRAMERS REPORT on
-Hit OK
Best regards,
Mike
