Yesterday I posted on Wizard the same question about starting a group to share ideas about CMC ideas.
Things like what pen works best and which ones you have problems using. What new ideas have you come up with and what items you would like to open for other users to help you with.

I wanted to start this when we had the 5000 and 8000, but could not get anyone on the Wizard forum to join and share information.

I'm in!!

I've had my 9000 for about 3-4 months. Lots to learn.

Ideal timing - I'm looking for someone with a CMC in PA (or in the US who can ship UPS or whatever) who can supply mats for cigarette cards and cigar card arrays at trade prices to a framer, but I didn't know who to send him to. I just suggested he posts a request on the G. and also suggested he call wizard-int to see if they could suggest someone nearer to him.

We have a website listing of UK based wizard framers with the blessing of the UK suppliers by the way, and a large number of framers use wizards here.
over here we call mats "mounts" for some reason that someone might explain one day! www.wizardmounts.co.uk
quite useful. maybe worth thinking about for US wizard owners.

Was listing presented by Wizard?

It would be very helpfull if Wizard posted a list of shops that have CMC machines. Almost every week we get a CALL from someone looking for mat cutting (or pen service).

If you are searching for a CMC user proficient with custom mat designs involving cutting, debossing, and/or penwork, keep in mind that Wizard is only one of three good CMC brands. Gunnar and Valiani users could help as well, and depending on your need, perhaps better.

The user's proficiency is more important than the CMC brand. For example, Jared Davis does extraordinary things with his Gunnar CMC, and John Cooper is very proficient with his Valiani. I do pretty well with mine, too.

A good idea in theory Bill. On the UK Framing Forum; after many of these requests. we started this in 2009 with http://theframersforum.com/viewforum.php?f=26

There is also a section for CMC users to show (and exchange) their designs and it was hoped that more people would participate. Sadly it has died a death. Users of all makes of CMC - for some reason - are very reluctant to show their designs in an open forum.

John Cooper is very proficient with his Valiani. I do pretty well with mine, too.

Jim. Thanks for the mention. The Valiani Support Group UK (VSG UK) is kept very busy, supporting and giving advanced training to end users.
