His kid won 'Best Design' for their Cub Scouts pinewood derby ... and he wanted some way of displaying the car ...

... so I made him a little front opening display case.

Because the driver is wielding a gun in an outstretched arm I needed to create considerably more depth than would be normal for a pinewood derby car. This is what I used: CMI shadowbox moulding for rear, fairly deep CMI angular moulding for door, NB blue linen mat, opening cut in mountboard for certificate, patch sewn to mountboard, ribbon hangs by its eyelet on a little brass peg, black acrylic shelf for car is screwed to 3/16 ply back and has a small lip on front & sides to prevent car running off (especially for when display case door is open!), 12mm barrel hinges, rare earth magnetic closure, back of door spray painted black, Con Clear.
