I see there was a picture frame show in Atlanta and one in LV in Jan. We are on the east coast... is there anything coming up later in 2009 that would be closer?

Also, please post your opinion of which shows you'd recommend and why.

First, I suggest you use the search button. There has been significant discussion on the pros and cons of each show. They each have their strengths and weaknesses.

There is rumor that Decor is trying to revive framing at the NY show in the Spring. I'm not sure I've seen that anywhere else but here. Don't expect it to be much in it's first "return year."

WCAF in January in Las Vegas is well worth the trip and the PPFA Convention (this year) in Las Vegas in March immerses you in framing. Both well worth attending for different reasons.

There is supposed to be one in NYC along with Art Expo in late February put on by Decor magazine. I doubt that it is as big as West Coast Art and Frame in Las Vegas.

It seems as if tradeshows are on the decline not on the rise due to ease of communication through the internet. There used to be one in the Phila/NYC area several times a year.

There is an active PPFA group in the eastern PA, New Jersey, Delaware area. Since Nov and Dec are busy framing months, we don't plan anything during that time. For more information on PPFA National go to www.ppfa.com. The trial membership is only $50 if you haven't been a member for 5 years.

I don't see anything obvious about it on the website, but did get an exhibitor package a week or two ago from Decor saying they were going to be doing a show in conjunction with Art Expo.
 
WCAF (January) grows every year, while some others are not. The impressive PMA/PPFA show (March) makes WCAF look small, but it's primarily digital photography and printing vendors. Both of these shows have comparable educational opportunities for framers, but the framing industry vendors are displaying at WCAF.

Both shows are in Vegas.

We did both last year, since they were the same week. This year we will only be able to attend WCAF.

It's great chance to see all the new products, get some education, and socialize with fellow framers!
