Hey I just found out that I have a Larson Juhl rep here in Oregon who has never set foot in my shop. Apparently he has been with them 4 years! Has anyone else out there seen him in the northwest. I find it amazing in this economy I used to do more with them but since I don't have a rep I keep it to a minimum and do my bulk of orders from people who do have reps and come in. That is just crazy
 
Grumble seems quiet right now.

Anyway... I'd try to recognize that "in this economy" applies to manufacturers and distributors as well as shops and if a rep has a large territory he's probably going to be concentrating on larger accounts and new leads. I don't expect personal contact from several companies we deal with. If you click on his email link on the LJ site and say you'd like to do more with them but would like a visit I bet he'd be by.
 
Is it Rob Amburgy?? He has not been with LJ 4 years, but he is my rep, so should be yours. He is awesome and I can't imagine that he has not been there on purpose. I'll PM you his info.
 
So you have an LJ account, but never seen your rep. I know that they will prioritize visits by volume, but I have been told that they are to step foot in every account twice a year. The only thing I can think of is that the timing of visits didn't allow. Such as he/she was in Corvallis on a Monday and your shop is closed on Mondays etc.

If your interested in seeing a rep, contact your DC and tell them. I wouldn't hold this over the reps head, instead try to build a new stronger relationship.
 
Four years is a pretty long time to not see a rep. I don't do a lot of volume with them, but if they look at their records they would see I used to do a lot more even with the economy. At first I thought oh we moved that must be why and he went to the old store and we were gone. That doesn't make any sense because I get deliveries here at the new location and billed here. I believe even though I don't do a lot of money with them the rep would still recieve a commision on my sales.
