This week I was asked if I do Laminating, unfortunately I don't offer this service, as this was a customer lost would it be worth considering adding this service to the Framing business.

we laminate tons of stuff - and with the new trend around here of wanting posters to look more like "art" without mats, etc, it's a great way to give it a nice finish without glass problems.

Might I suggest you take the opportunity to create an "out service" first to establish the level of work you are likely to generate. I do this very often and did so with laminate (larger than A3) for many years until I recently purchased an enormous machine capable of laminating amongst other things. (Rollers for mounting/laminating)

We use the Bienfang laminates quite a bit for poster art. It has many advantages over regular glass, including weight and safety and anti-reflective. I believe they also have a higher UV protection rating than glass. Plus they come in different finishes, like linen and canvas, which some of our customers really like. They are basically "peel 'n stick", then into the hot press with a layer of foam. Larson-Juhl and many other suppliers carry them.

Buy a roll, set up a display piece, and see how it goes in your neighborhood.
