Is it possible to laminate a print (inkjet) that has been mounted to Kool Tack?
Will it cause the adhesive to fail? We have a mechanical press. Seal recommends 9 minutes at 225.

I have done it with kool tack and my roller laminater. I dont know about that long and temp though. I know the roller gets real hot but it is not in there long.

Thanks, Dan. Sometimes I forget we have a roller laminator I could use for just the top. Mostly we do encapsulation with it.

Laminating with kooltack

Rhonda,
Give Jim a call at Superior Mldg.
He's an expert at it and will walk you thru it. He probably laminates 20-30 pcs. month

Laminating at higher temperatures and dwell times will not weaken the Kool Tack adhesive. However, the ability to reverse the bond would be reduced.

I generally laminate at 190 degrees for 5-7 minutes. If the laminated surface shows 'silvering' after one cycle in the vacuum press, I just run it through another cycle. No problems.

As always, be sure to cool under weight, to prevent warping and weak spots in the bond.
