Hello -

I'm looking for a source for Solid Koa Wood Moulding. I have a source for Koa Veneer; however, customer needs solid wood.

Thanks for any information you may have.

You can try Picture Woods, I couldn't find their 800 # but here is their local #,
303-530-4848 (they are located in Boulder, CO). They make alot of "exotic" moulding, nice quality.

Good luck!

Picture woods doesn't do Koa. Actually, all of their woods are North American hardwoods. No exotic woods.

I wouldn't want to cut that moulding. Koa is extremely hard and will dull blades fast. Having said that, if you have a router table, or access to one, you can get Koa wood from Woodcraft (I don't see it on their website but I've seen it in their store and catalogs) and cut your own moulding. More work, but a valid last resort. BTW, Koa isn't cheap either!

Edit: They also sell Koa decking that might be suitable for routing into a moulding.

eBay has alot of Koa wood for sale on there. You just need to mill it yourself and there you go.
