The really nice thing about Kaspersky is that they have very attractive rates for multiple machines/years. For instance, anybody can get the basic version of Kaspersky from their website for $16.67/pc/yr for just 3 machines over 2 years. Most people nowadays have three computers they need to protect...

I'm converting over to Kaspersky as we get new machines and will switch completely from paid AVG when our subs runs out this fall.
 
I have been very happy with it, and use the basic version (Kaspersky Antivirus). I don't need/want the one with the firewall, because our computers are protected by a router.

Kaspersky seems to stop more infections than any others I have used in the past decade, and has a very low performance hit.

We did the 5 pc's for 36 months flavor, which is $199 ($13.33/yr per pc)
