Is there any compatibility issues between the 2 varnishes?
I want to put a finish coat of varnish on a painting that is now 1.5yrs old but I know the painter put a light spray of kamar on it when it was just completed.

Varnishing paintings in inherently risky and
best left to conservators or the artists. Damar
is great at saturating blacks and dark areas,
making them more visible, but it discolors over
time and will ultimately have to be removed.
Modern varnishes made of Regalrez or Laropal
polymers seem to be more stable, but can be more difficult to apply. It is always worth asking
whether one is being paid enough to justify any
procedure that entails risk.
