Some of the stuff I’ve done over the years, especially 2002 - 2012.

I’m a now retired carpenter superintendent with a fairly nice shop in my garage. Most are glazed with 1/8” annealed window glass except some Art Wolfe’s that I own.

The big works are glazed with acrylic. I did the mats myself with a consumer level Altos mat cutter (made in Ellensburg WA).

I tried welding some up, by was never any good a heli-arc. The other weld procedures put out too many sparks that cause fingle berries on the country metal.

Wenge and ribbon wood. Mitered and splined. Glued with epoxy

I used to make these frames as gifts all the time. An oak exterior and a maple interior frame. All mitered and v-nailed, and splined when they were big.

Some really good work there! That frame on image 89 is terrific.

I really enjoyed making frames. I used photos I or my GF took, and then some Art Wolf photos I bought, and some Austin Post photos I got when I was a grad student.

Plus maps etc

Now our walls are effectively 110% full

If you're looking to get the look of rusted or patinaed metal, they make paint which contains metal particles which can be patinized using an oxidizer. We have used it in the past when customers wanted the look of old metal on ornate profiles.
