out there: Snow, freezing rain and a mix of both now, 5 inches and counting.

But, and it happens a lot in such weather: Customer braves the blizzard and icy roads to come in to frame a large picture with a stacked frame and triple mats (top is hand-wrapped) to the tune of over $1000.

Let it snow more!

...but a threat of perhaps sleet the NEXT DAY will cause folks to stay away. Too busy buying toilet paper, I guess. What a strange business we are in...

In central Ohio we have had poopy weather for about two weeks now. It started with a heavier-than-predicted rush hour snow, and we haven't seen sunshine since... just clouds, drizzle, and a few downpours.

Not exactly the weather to inspire an enthusiastic HO-HO-Ho, Merry Christmas spirit.

Have I mentioned that it is sunny and pushing close to 60 degrees here? Lovely weather, although a bit on the chilly side. I had to use my defroster this morning to de-fog my windshield.

Bright blue skies, a little crisp breeze and 30 degrees. Down to 16 last night.

Sorry Pauly(N)....that's mean.

But glad you had at least one brave soul to brighten your dreary day!

Closed 2 hours early it seemed I was the only business still open!

Took 90 minutes to get home (instead of 45 minutes), roads had the consistency of coconut frosting on a pound cake - even my Jeep was skidding every now and then.

But now I am enjoying an early dinner and a well deserved glass of white:beer:

We expect the same on Saturday, but hey, that's why we have the 7 seasons here (hot, hot & humid, sticky, cold, cold and icy, Spring and Fall)...:)

Several inches here. the rest of the staff has left. i have a 30 min drive without snow, im gonna get a bunch of framing done while there are no customers to make me help them design their christmas cards or calendars. If the roads arent much better by 9 or so im campin here... gotta be back at 8 am anyway. :)

Kinda Cruddy here.......no ice though! Going out to get a Margarita in a to-go cup and heading back to frame, frame, frame!!!!!!!!

It was 75 here today and 80 yesterday.

We sure could use some of that precipitation, we are 15 inches below normal and in a severe drought.

Y'all be careful driving in that stuff. You need to remember that 4 wheel drive doesn't really do anything for you on ice. Snow it works like a champ, but ice...

And I had to wear a sweatshirt over my shirt today-horrors!

Sorry Paul N.

Actually it really looks nice, Christmasy and quaint now...once you get home, throw a few logs into the fire place and break into a bottle of fine Brandy!

Defrosting the ice-cube car tomorrow morning is a different story though....thank God for the remote starter!

This morning fog turned into ice on bridges. It took, me 45 minutes to go about 4 blocks, usually a trip of a minute or two at the most, incuding the 4 lights involved. There was a fender bender on the bridge so 3 lanes of traffic had to squeeze into one lane. Grrrrr.

Nice gentle wintery weather here in Albuquerque. Just enough snow for decorative purposes, not too much, not too little, just right. 40's today, a couple of 20 degree nights ahead, then back to 40-something daytime, 25 night. Just right for quilts, fireplaces, marshmallows, whatever, did I say Hot Toddies?

This is today's sunset at an Albuquerque park near by house.

Been 70's, 80's here all week. Everyone is out raking pine needles out of their yards in shirtsleeves. I'd be out there too, if I could. I was going gangbusters until this week. Maybe someone is telling me to hold off, too much to handle before Xmas.

Bill thats an awesome view! By the way what is a HOT TODDIE? I have no idea what that is but sounds good on a cold winter night!

13 inches of snow so far and still falling here

I think it has something to do with honey, tea, lemon, and brandy, lots of brandy. Kind of 30's thing I think, which from your avatar might of interest to you!

BTW dry mounting prints tonight, nice & cozy over in the corner with the 500T-X! Think positive.

Someone said it was sunny today... wouldn't know... went to work in the dark, came home in the dark....

Good grief, Baer, with all that rain you had up there, now you've got dry static? How'd that happen?

Welcome to my world! Static all year 'round. Dry-dry-dry, even when it's snowing! Hubby and I have to touch each others' arm (or something) before we can get a kiss, or we get ZAPPED!!...all year.

Hope you're feeling better by morning, Baerfriend.

We do have awesome sunsets here. 'Course my view is from directly on the other side of the mountain Bill shows in his picture.

About 10 inches here in the Hudson Valley. We closed up early, and I almost ran into a Mobil station. At least then, someone could have experienced some heat. It's SOOO cold here!

I'll bet THAT was fun to shovel!!

Forecast for Saturday night sounds like fun -- a winter smorgasbord of yet more poopy weather...

Two storms are coming, one right after the other. The appetizer will be about an inch of snow, then sleet & freezing rain for a while, turning back to snow as storm #2 hits. Here's the fun part: Some in our metro area may get slammed by up to 8", and others might squeek by with no more than 3".

With all this modern technology, you'd think they could track a storm accurately, wouldn't you? Glad I got that new snow thrower; looks like it may get a workout.

Jim, I am a bit north of you, and we are in the midst of the first storm. Already have 3-4 inches and it looks like it will never stop. Thinking of closing early.

It was 75 here today and 80 yesterday.

We have been pretty much the same here. But today its been wet and dreary and it might snow tonight or tomorrow. The 70 degree weather in December was just freaking me out.

I'm really, really glad that I live in Florida when I see these winter storms.

Brrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Everyone stay safe and warm.

We had the infamous "wintry mix" today. I thought it would keep people home but it was busier than I expected. All Christmas deadlines, of course.
