What can this possibly mean? I noticed on my home computer last night that under the "New Topics" column everything that was listed was from yesterday morning even though other topics had been started. The last topic started according to my computer is "Guess who is writing Books" posted by Deb. The last topic posted to say's "how to start a framing business" last post by Anne L. and it is the 5th post. There have been other posts since her post.

Tonight I came on again and it still has the exact topics and posts showing as it did last night. Although the actual forums show all the current posts.

My computer at work isn't doing this. Why would this be happening at home? I even rebooted and it is still showing the same topics, no change. It's got to be my computer but why?

Very odd.....

Better not take any airplane rides for a while. You're in the twilight zone. Maybe you should walk instead of using your car. Not sure if you should use your saw or any other power tools. Your manual sander should be safe to use. Put your new digital camera in the freezer for a few days. That should take care of the gremlin who is doing this to you.

...or read "The Langoliers", by Stephen King

It sounds like your browser is reading the old pages from the cache memory. That's happened sometimes when I read pages "off-line." The next time I log on, the old pages are still there until I refresh.

Try cleaning out your internet temporary files. If you use Norton's Utilities, the Cleanup function will do this. Or, in your browser (probably MS Internet Explorer,) go to Tools, Internet Options, the General tab, Temporary Internet Files and then click on Delete Files.

That's why I like Norton's. You can do in one or two clicks what takes Microsoft 5-6 clicks.

Kathy, I have that again but not on all forums. It's one of those glitches which sometimes happens. Ron's suggestion may help. The easiest way to solve it when it happens is hit the refresh button. It generally happens after I view a thread and hit the back button.

Rebooting will not empty the files.

I have a similar problem at one of my offices on a Windows 98SE machine. I've been unable to figure out why. It doesn't like to set my last read pointers unless I manually update the pointers twice.

This really is a weird deal. I have refreshed many many times. I did even reboot the computer. I didn't check this morning, I will have to try again tonight. Thanks for the ideas!

I will in particular follow katmans advice to a "T". I've got the camera "on ice" even as I am typing this.......
