My car was in the shop today so I had a loaner. We had our first bit of sticky snow of the season, so I had to improvise. I can report that a 7" piece of Larson Juhl medium strainer stock makes a nice windshield scraper.

whatever WORKS!!!!!!! and I can say for (absolute) certain that here in mid-florida we 'almost' never have need for either(maybe 1/2doz x's since '63???).....and most certainly neither method has much effect on those pesky hurricanes! careful on these white roads!

just about fell off the couch this am----watching a chicago 'newsy' --outside, with the city scape behind him--and it was SNOWING!!!!!!!!!

Sorry people, but it caught me off guard and hit a 'funny' spot!!!:icon21:
guess winter has arrived, huh? keep those wood & pleci items handy---I think you're gonna need them---SOON!!!

Just rub it in.

Bill,

I am considering the use of some Larson strainer stock for ski's...........Or maybe a sled...........Pretty slippery downstate Illinois this morning.

Just don't nobody go using museum glass for house windows.
If you thought birds flew into them before, just think of the
ruckus that stuff could cause.

It drives me crazy when local news reporters are forced to stand in the nasty weather doing a "live feed" of a "breaking news" story in front of a location where something happened earlier but where nothing is happening currently. Why? To justify the huge expenditure on the equipment that makes these "exclusive" "reports" possible.
 Rick

News remotes...............

Rick,

In Illinois, our reporters stand in front of the state house in Springfield(or the governor's house in Chicago, since he doesn't go to Springfield) and do reports every day. More action there than anywhere, and most of it worse than any snow storm.............

If the motor goes out in your electric car windows (thus causing the pain of glass to slip down, particularly when driving), I can report a good temporary fix is manually lifting the window, and craming scrap 4-play mat board on the inside between the pane and the interior wall of the car. Not a perfect solution but will tide you over before you can get the car in the shop for a replacement window motor.

Or you know, just drive a car with manual windows.

I would imagine winter colors would still be strong, however the Color Forecast is showing spring pastels around Easter.
