OK, I'm OLD, I admit it. I've been trying to cut an angled object box with my Wiz, and so for I have only confused myself to the point of jumping off my designing table and commiting sewerside. I only have 1 piece of 40 x 60 board left so I thought I consult the "Grumble" specialists. I have a 40" x 32" shadow box, depth of the sides is 2 1/4", I need a 4" inch marging around the edges of the display mat. I'm attaching two wresteling singlets and need room for signatures along the sides. I shant tell you I cuy 3 mats and messed it up each time, I've done this before several times, but, my brain is now officially mush. HELP! (I know it's super easy, but I have lost my grip on reality) Randy J

Merlin; I want to thank you for the information, I found the article VERY useful and finally got the result I was looking for. Again Thank You.

Sue; Calling Wizard was my first move, by the time I got through with Ryan, he was as confused as I was! Hopefully I will be able to remember how to do it again. But at my age, ..................what was I talking about???? Thanks for the input. Randy J.

box cutting

Randy, I do not know if this will help you with shadow boxes....
It is on the UK Framing Forum: http://theframersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4156#p50785

I like using this formula (I wish I had known there was some one else out there who had already done the math for me) but I have found that instead of straight cutting or reverse beveling both sides of the triangle that will fall from the corner I only cut one side and on the back I score the other edge. I then tear all but the face paper off so I can wrap it around to the other side and glue. there isn't a gap that isn't the same color/ texture as the rest and it is much stronger than any other tape you could try to fidget with.
