I'm so impressed with the Michael's frame job I just got in to replace the broken Masterpiece glass.

Sorry, I don't have my camera here today..... I'll see if the wife can bring it up to me during her busy day.

The frame is well joined. The stirups were screwed down with good screws and the wire is nicely 'just loose enough' and a good weight.

The backing paper was blue Lineco.

The mats are Alpha

The backing is AF Foam Core

The mounting is four 1" lengths of ATG about 2" in from the corners.

I don't care if it is only from Boise State [AKA Bozo U]. It still represents 4-5 years of very expensive hard work.

My 10 minute job just became an hour to salvage.

This framer, due to disrespect or bad instructions (either learning or practices) gives framers a bad name.

Humph!!~
Training or do you think it is a rogue framer?

I have gotten needleworks from Micheals that has been duct-taped down. I don't think Baer's experience is all that unusual.

Oh I don't know, those big box mounting jobs have been pretty good around here! This wasn't Michael's though.

We had a customer come in with a job from AC Moore. The artwork was wavy in the frame and she took had taken it back to ACM to have it mounted. When she took it home, it seemed fine, then it started bubbling. When she told us this over the phone, we had thought it was Speedmount that wasn't heated up to proper temp, so we had her bring it in. She had spent $400 on it, and the frame was the cheap plastic $.50/foot made in China Lasron-Juhl knockoff. Not only that, it wasn't mounted with Speedmount. It was ATGed down. The print was ruined. It was fortunate she was able to obtain another one fairly easily, but when she went back to complain, they shrugged and said, "you okayed it."

Ah, big box frame shops: our best advertising.

I just got in a Ketubah to frame that had been matted by M. Eleven hinges around (the bottom only got two so that it could breath) with a self stick adhesive tape. The color of the mat was bright neon purple which I'm sure that the couple will love in thirty years. Luckily I got the job and will replace the matting to a more tasteful look. Oh, I almost forgot there were plenty of stickers with the job information in contact with the document. The foamcore looked like a beaver chewed it! Sorry, I stayed professional, kept on track and didn't mention any of the above as I don't believe in bashing others in public.

Unbelievable what our country will accept....

Oh, when I framed the Boise State degree for them, they told me they were heading up to Portland and would have M's put Masterpiece Glass on it there, since I didn't carry that glass. I'm sorry to hear it broke!
