Hi Everyone!

I just moved into a small office location and I suppose the ride was a bit too bumpy for my press. When I connected the unit, it wouldn't fire up(pic1). I've pinpointed the problem to two parts. My electrician told me that a transformer was dead and also, there is a "jumper pin" (pic3) that was found laying around instead of being lodged into somewhere in the distributor box(pic3). I've called Drytac, and spoke with their service dep. with no luck. It seems that they have lost the schematic to this unit, and dont know exactly where the jumper goes within the distributor box. (pic2&4) I'm seeking the help of someone out there with a HGP HOTPRESS Model 220 (the smaller unit, the bigger ones are configured different) that can open up your press and take a quick photo of the distributor box and send it to me(freddiemphoto@yahoo.com). It should be able to figure out the positioning via the photo, the jumper should be sticking out of the unit. I'd be will to compensate you for your time and assistance. This would be a huge help for me. Thanks so much in advance ;)

It might be good to check with Steve Goodall from Hotpress. They carry this model. The manuals are on their website, but don't seem go into the technical detail you are requiring.

If you email him, he may have some advice

Best regards,

Steve is a great guy, you might even get lucky, if he us heading to Vegas he might even pop in and sort the machine himself, he's that sort of guy. :-)

If the configuration of a big press does turn out to help you, let me know. We have the 50"x100" Hot Press model.

I love ours, never had a problem. (It should be nice, it was about $10,000.) Thing weighs a bazillion pounds—I think it took 6-8 guys straining to lift and carry it—but fortunately, we haven't had to move it since we got it 10 years ago to upgrade our old (big but cold) press.
